Thematic block: INCLUSION AND ACCESSIBILITY

Presentations with practical examples on the topic of ‘Accessibility in museums’

In this thematic block, Dirk Sorge presents the barriers that arise when implementing accessibility in museums and how they can be overcome. Dirk Sorge has been working for and with museums in various roles and functions for over ten years. He has been a mediator, consultant, critical friend and visitor. In doing so, he has campaigned for inclusion and accessibility. He has experienced what structural problems are and how small successes are possible. Much of this has to do with design - but not only in the material meaning. The Moritzburg Art Museum then shows how this can be achieved, how accessibility can be seen as an attitude and a process to be started.
